Review: Although he was once a colonel in Argentina, the principal character in this film is now a wealthy exile living in Paris with his beloved wife, who has been unable to bear children. To fill this void in their lives, he feeds and clothes abandoned children, raising them in his mansion as if they were his own. As would never be the case in real life today, in this fantasized story set in 1925, no one objects to this behavior, and they live pleasantly and enjoyably together. Things grow considerably more animated when a stage magician places his very attractive daughter in the colonel's household, which stirs a lively romantic interest from his boys and from the great man himself. Review: Damien Odoul makes his directorial debut with this character study of a young restless lad whose identity and burgeoning maturity is tested during a single day. Aggressive, rambunctious, and scatterbrained, David (Pierre-Louis Bonnetblanc) is a teenaged boy who lives in a remote corner of France with his uncle, his parents having long since absented his life. On one particularly fine day, David's relatives throw a barbecue for the rough and tumble country folk in the area. As the day wears on, David convinces his uncle to let him have his first taste of alcohol, and soon a round of drunken male bonding ensues. Later, David wanders away from the party and meets up with one of his friends, and soon they are exploring the fields and streams of the country. Review: This film is based on the story which happened in 1984 in Czechoslovakia. The main hero is Marika, 14th years old girl who was by mistake of authorities sent to madhouse for young. Here she founds that wards are terrorized by their tutors. Those tutors are also responsible for deaths of several wards due overdosing of medicaments. Marika tries to escape several times but she is always caught and sent back. She also tries to protect other kids against of tyranny.
